About this deal

Autor vyťažil maximum z čudných zvukov, ktoré sa ozývajú v každom dome a byte a dal im zmysel v podobe Vrzgošov.

I did feel that it was a bit odd that only Lucy and her friend Norman seemed to be responsible kids. Consequently, the children embark on a rampage, causing havoc in houses and on the street, throwing toilet paper on trees, and creating a mess everywhere. He is also a music-making, song-writing, guitar-playing, Guinness World Record-holding, nappy changing, galaxy-defending dad! This lends itself really well to having an adult read the story aloud to a child but is equally interesting if reading alone. The Christmasaurus was the biggest debut middle-grade novel of 2016 and was shortlisted for a British Book Award, since then Tom has published several more chart-topping children’s novels including The Creakers, The Christmasaurus and the Winter Witch and the instant number one bestseller The Danger Gang.

The characters are likeable and relatable and do well to represent the underlying message in the story that it's good to be different, that different doesn't necessarily mean bad and we should infact embrace this. In het boek De Knerpers neemt ze de leiderrol op zich, ook zorgt ze ervoor dat alles weer goed komt, toch? A sensible girl who inadvertently becomes the little grown up of the story, and who takes charge of all the children when the real grown ups disappear one day.

A brave adventure story coupled with likeable characters and good clean humour makes this a popular choice with Year 3 at storytime. I could really feel Lucy's fear of being without her mum and was genuinely worried for the kids' fate!Famous for being a member of the band McFly, Tom Fletcher is a number one bestseller and one of the UK's most popular children’s authors. Now it's not very nice to use little girls as live bait to catch monsters, but, if you do ever have to, then it's always best to use an annoying little sprog like Ella, just in case they do actually end up getting snatched. The one word that Tom Fletcher has used repeatedly to describe his second novel in the lead up to its release is ‘disgusting‘, and I have to say I completely agree with him (in a good way! A mysterious note on the school gates says that they are gone forever, but Lucy is convinced that this isn’t true, and her suspicions are confirmed when she discovers monsters under her bed! The vivid descriptions that work so well in The Christmasaurus triumph again, although this time reading about all of the foul stenches and dirty rubbish-loving tendencies of the Creakers in all of their putrid glory made me feel a bit queasy!
