About this deal

Back before he became the main photographer for bunches of audio magazines and stuff, Nathan was fiddling with pretty cool audio gear all day long at TouchMyApps. I should add that I can’t help but wonder if my impressions, below, have to something do with issues of volume matching. A perfectly linear or neutral tuning this is not, however, and in turn, you’ll see the Andro being dubbed as all manner of things; be it thin, thick, bassy or bright. The Fibae 7 has more defined layers while the Andromeda 2020 has slightly sharper imaging and localisation. I’ll go away now, but I am sad to hear that folks acknowledge that manufacturers are enriching the reviewers and that either 1) no one sees a problem with that or 2) they believe that they are beyond influence or 3) no one is concerned about it.

The quick presentation also means that separation operates at a surprisingly high level despite their fullness and warmth. Campfire somehow makes IEMs with big nozzles that do not make me itchy after a long time of using them. Andromeda S also pursues more of a static, calmer attitude that brings out a sober mood to the music. I’ll use it together with the next one on the album, the Eye in the Sky to explain the midrange to you. The lower-treble now sits just slightly more forward than before and extension has been noticeably improved in both measurement and listening.I don’t know whether it’s worth spending an extra 1100 bucks on a new pair if your originals are still in decent shape. The MACH 60 is a solid IEM, but I don’t think that it can rival Andromeda Emerald Sea in terms of sound quality. Now, since Andromeda 2020 is a revision of the previous Andromeda which we have already covered as a review, this time we will change it up a bit with the formatting. I’ve been in that argument 1000 times, so no need to redo that – the responses still need to be normalized (as I describe it) or averaged out, to make them readable and comparable to known references.

Under less scrutiny, however, it is mid-bass definition and dynamics that are most notably improved over its predecessor – even if the tuning is no cleaner. At the moment, I’ve got my iPhone 4s set to a volume of 3 (out of 16) and am in my quiet office listening to folk music. The reason reviewers are *more* eager to take items on loan than freebies is simple: the on-loan items are more valuable and better enhance the reviewer’s status.

Lime Ears Aether R (1200 EUR): The Aether R is a similar style of earphone, being W-shaped, but definitely different in execution. I have personally never had problems with my Andromedas, though I’ve read a couple of complaints about failing drivers in the previous model. About Audio is dedicated to portable audio content – ranging from reviews, impressions, news, photographs, and any other audio-related articles that I would like to share. The Andro has a larger and more holographic soundstage in turn, while the Aether R has slightly more stable imaging yet. The main box is covered with textured paper with colorful stickers explaining the contents of the box.

Such tuning makes sense since the JP market is rather focused on a flatter/brighter sound signature and I am also a fan of this tuning too. This allows for the emphasis/de-emphasis of specific frequency bands, enabling the ultra-fine tuning of a driver. As a part of the set, you’ll find three Time Stream cables: 3,5mm, 2,5mm balanced, and 4,4mm balanced.Sure not, since Andromeda 2020 has gone through meaningful revamps inside out which was for the good. For example, if a person is being compensated by a manufacturer for reviewing a product, perhaps by being allowed to keep the product. Thanks to the open and airy nature of the sound it is not bothering me as much, but you know, we all have our preferences. This means that if you are using another IEM with your player and detected some white noise, that white noise will most likely sound a lot louder on Andromeda.

After accumulating nearly a million views, Stereophile demanded that those reviews be condensed into a blog, which (for technical reasons) would have made them nearly useless. I suspect the bass tuning is roughly similar to the 2020’s except that it is boosted ever so slightly. The Andro has sharper articulation being a bit more revealing while the Aether R is smoother and denser up top but more contrasty down-low, deriving higher definition. e. Stereophile and their tentacles), but if the traffic were high enough in sellable review items, you and everyone else would know that too. There is some rasp that is, to some extent, offset by the denser upper midrange – so it isn’t pushed to the extent of sharpness or sibilance. The Aether R has more treble instrument body and texture, it’s a bit more organic while the Andro is more energetic and sparkly. Instrument separation is strong on both but the Andromeda pulls ahead as it’s able to make use of its stage depth for vastly improved layering.
