About this deal

The Kenwood BM260 is simple to use and produces lovely white loaves, so if that’s all you need, you’ll be happy with this bread maker. The only down sides I can see (apart from it taking 3h25mins to do a 1kg loaf) is that it doesn't always 'collect' all the flour from the corner of the machine, so loaves can come out with one corner of flour that crumbles away. For added convenience, the internal oven light and viewing window make it possible to inspect your bread-making progress. Model numbers usually consist of a manner of letters and numbers, and may also include characters such as a slash (/) or a dash (-). We do find there are lacks in the instruction/recipe booklet, which doesn't seem to have many recipes for ordinary bread (the white loaf has egg in it, and the wholemeal seeds).

Overall a nice little machine that makes nice bread that lasts around 3 days if put in a plastic bag, so well worth it. The yeast is exhausted by the time baking begins and the top of the bread just flattens quite a lot.But if you can afford twice as much, the very best breadmaker performance we’ve seen so far was from the Panasonic SD-ZB2502BXC.

My previous breadmaker (other brand) didn't produce bread as dense as kenwood does and i found the reason as well.

The issues I have experienced with this include the fact that the bread always collapses and there is always a hole at the bottom of the bread as the mechanism can not be removed. If they used stainless steel they wouldn't rot but then Kenwood wouldn't be able to sell so many replacement pans. The rolls gave me the best of both worlds - the machine kneaded them whilst I got on with other cooking, and then I knocked them back and shaped them. The water will leak out from the breadpan and could anyone please let me know what is the problem and how to fix it? When using Tesco Strong Wholemeal flour, the top of the loaf collapsed, and the bread had a rock-hard crust.
