About this deal

We started with a Toddlebike at around 18 months of age, then graduated to a Puky, then pedals after that. We were really surprised to find that the Chicco Red Bullet requires a wrench to loosen and tighten the seat post bolt. Our kids have sat on other balance bikes but are never as daredevil as when they were on their Strider Bike!

We loved the carry handles, cut out of the bike frame – a thoughtful touch that will be appreciated by parents who will inevitably end up having to carry the balance bike at some point. The item may be missing the original packaging or protective wrapping, or may be in the original packaging but not sealed. Receive a 20% discount on monthly subscriptions or a 30% off yearly subscriptions on Miraj Stories App. The first brillaint thing the other half and I noticed about this bike is that it's so light weight. Publishers change their covers frequently and we will send the latest edition of the item available. This means that children can very easily hit their legs against the frame, causing pain and bruising. One of our little testers is just starting to get to grips with pedalling, so we tested out the pedal kit too. Learning to ride a bike can be quite daunting for children, when I was learning I had a set of stabilisers which gave me some confidence to ride. It’s built to last, so a great model to pass down through siblings or to friends, and the resale market for Woom is huge, if you decide to sell it once it’s been outgrown. The handlebar – although non-adjustable – has easy-grip, rubber handles which our older tester found easy to steer.

Neither have a brake (but both look great - you're personal preference will be between the frame styles on these two! This super stylish balance bike not only looks awesome in it’s 3 available colours (Green Rocket, Pink Arrow and Red Bullet) it feels very robust and safe! Balance bikes develop a child’s sense of balance and coordination by encouraging them to use their feet to glide along the ground,” explains Alexandra Rico-Lloyd, co-founder of kids’ bike subscription service The Bike Club. The handle bars have nice grips on each end with little nobbly bits for extra grip too, and the wheels aren't tyres! After over 7 years and testing over hundreds of bike products, her expertise has led her to collaborate and consult with some of the most respected kid's bike product brands in the industry, including Guardian Bikes, Retrospec, Thousand, Kids Ride Shotgun, and Prevelo. The puncture-resistant tyres mean you’ll never be caught out; however, they are more suitable to riding on flat ground rather than grass or really uneven surfaces. With a Master's Degree in Marketing from Northwestern University, Carrie left the corporate world behind to dedicate her career to testing and improving kids' bikes and bike products.

my little boy was able to ride a bike without stabilisers at the age of 3 because of using this balance bike . With Christmas fast approaching I can see the Chicco Balance Bike being well received by any lucky recipient. They start in balance bike mode, and come equipped with everything you need to transform the balance bike into a pedal bike when the time is right. However, we want to go further and promote the idea of parenting, a concept that embraces the wider support system of people who take care of children in different ways. The former is stylish, easy to ride and exceptional quality – it’s a balance bike that kids will love and one that can be passed down the family over the years.

Finally for younger riders, the Toddlebike/Lena Bike is a great option for those aged 18 months plus who aren't quite ready to progress to a full balance bike. And because there are other cheap bikes that are significantly better and easier to ride, there really is no reason to choose the Red Bullet. A balance bike is a two wheeled bike which helps children develop the necessary balance on two wheels. As valve caps may pose a choking hazard for young children, we liked how Huffy use a safety valve, which needs to be pushed in and twisted to remove (similar to the caps you find on medicine bottles). Your budget, brand preference and amount of use the bike will get should help you make the correct choice for your family.

Now you can choose your favorite color of Chicco Balance Bike, among flaming red, shocking pink, blazing green and unicorn pink.
