About this deal

I love reading books set abroad during the summer (especially when it seems like everyone has a fancy European vacation planned this summer but you! I thought Violet and Matt’s story was so easy and enjoyable to read, but I think what set this book apart for me was Violets journey of self discovery.

When Violet dumps coffee ☕️ all over him and his laptop 💻… well she learned just how grumpy 😠 and snarky Matt could be. I loooooove books set in Italy, so when I saw the title of Ciao for Now my eyebrows immediately shot up and I was interested.A delectable enemies-to-lovers summertime rom-com set in Rome about an American interning at a fashion house who butts heads with the designer’s surly son and sparks fly.

Overall: Ciao for Now was super cute and a really fun read, with the bonus of having an incredible setting in Italy. What I don’t like about it: For the first couple of chapters, who Violet was as a character was a little too ambiguous. Fun banter and chemistry, fabulous setting (Rome and a weekend trip to Capri), and interesting secondary characters (especially her friend and fellow student Marco) - Ciao For Now is a fun read that will be perfect for the beachbag this summer! The angst and banter between Violet and Matt seemed so real and believable and my only wish is that there would have been more! Their initial hostility combined with the forced proximity gave this an enemies-to-lovers vibe that I couldn’t resist. I also loved hanging out with Violet and her endearing classmates as they interned in the fashion world.

Almost as soon as Violet lands in Rome, she manages to trip and fall in a cafe, crash landing on a sexy man, crushing his laptop and dousing him in coffee. But the more we get to witness Sam in action, the more it becomes clear that things aren’t nearly as perfect as they seem. Anxious and self-protective by nature Matt tears down his walls for Violet, but her fears get in the way.
