About this deal

We offer a large choice of fans, but you need to consider what you’ll be using them for before making your pick. Some fans come with three adjustable speed options for you to control your desired airflow at your convenience.

All it takes is a tap of the touch-sensitive button on the base, which switches between fan mode and three heat settings. In addition to the latest bladeless models, our range includes a great choice of pedestal, desk, tower and ceiling fans, including affordable but effective cooling fans that will fill any overheating room with cool, refreshing air. One Twitter user wrote: "I’m not saying perimenopause is killing me slowly, but I have just had to purchase a USB fan that will travel in my laptop bag with me.

This is one of Princess’s only fans without smart features, but for all that it’s arguably its best. You’re never guaranteed a scorching summer in the UK, but when the heat hits, the best fans will keep you cool, calm and collected. This air circulator is a much better compromise, as it moves in a circular motion and bounces air off the walls and ceilings to keep the entire room (and everyone in it) cool. With 3 speed options, oscillating head and tilting fan head, the fan is versatile and can be altered to suit your living needs. And as we all know how important nap time is, it operates at under 57dB so it won’t disturb them when they drift off.

The highest setting seemed a little noisy when we used it while watching TV, but lower settings – and the night mode – were barely noticeable, so we had no trouble sleeping with this fan purring away in the corner. Different fans will also expel air at different angles, with some pushing it around a bigger space and others focusing their power in a narrow cone. You will find that these air-con units will adapt to your current weather conditions, room size and seating arrangement with ease.

There’s no point in having a fan to keep you cool if you can’t sleep through the noise or hear the TV over the racket, and often you’ll need to find a compromise. By passing all the air it draws in through the large “activated carbon” and HEPA filters in the base of the fan, it can remove all sorts of domestic pollution from the air as it cools, from allergens such as pollen to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and NO2. We tried them in various-sized rooms, including an open-plan kitchen, and overnight in a bedroom, to see if they worked their cooling magic and if they were quiet enough during operation to still watch TV and sleep. Designed to help keep you feeling cooler for longer, the 12-Inch Metal Desk Fan is sure to come in handy during the warmer months.

It doesn’t have much in the way of features or settings, with just three speeds and a 90˚ oscillation option, but it puts out a lot of airflow at its maximum speed, and enough to keep one person cool at its lowest setting. The Vortex Air’s only downside is that it suffers from the usual problem of all fan heaters – that temperatures can dip fast when the heater isn’t active – and that there’s no way to manually set the thermostat control. Obviously, a dinky fan won’t bring your overall body temperature down, but it really does help just to feel the breeze on your face when it’s sweltering.

The Vortex Air Cleanse is a fan of many talents, working as a tower fan in the summer, a fan heater in the winter and an air purifier all year round. It’s easy to use and assemble with just two speeds, and it won’t even take up much room, as it’s much smaller than a traditional desk fan.
